Cleared Table
Terms of Service
Effective September 4, 2026
Read this first — the safety terms.
Cleared Table is an informational organizing tool. It helps your household keep track of food decisions you have made. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical, nutritional, or dietetic advice, and cannot guarantee that any food, product, or recipe is safe for you or anyone in your household. Ingredient data can be incomplete, incorrect, or out of date; manufacturers change formulations and facilities without notice; AI-generated content can contain errors. You must independently verify every ingredient label and product yourself, every time, before buying, cooking, or eating. Decisions about allergies, intolerances, and medical diets belong with you and your qualified health professionals. If you or anyone experiences a medical emergency, call your doctor or emergency services immediately — never rely on this app in an emergency. By using Cleared Table you acknowledge and accept these limits and assume all risk associated with your food decisions.
1. Who we are, and agreement to these terms
Cleared Table (the “Service”) is operated by BuildMyMap LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company (“we,” “us”). By creating an account, joining a household, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account; household members under 18 may only participate through an account managed by their parent or guardian.
2. Accounts and households
Sign-in is provided through Google. Each account belongs to exactly one household. Household admins control their household's membership and settings, including restriction settings that affect what the household sees — configuring those settings accurately is the household's responsibility, not ours. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or harm other users.
3. The in-app safety acknowledgment
Before first use, every member must acknowledge in the app that Cleared Table can make mistakes and that they will verify ingredient labels themselves. That acknowledgment is part of these Terms and is recorded with your account.
4. Your content and The Commons
You keep ownership of recipes and content you create. By saving an original or AI-generated recipe, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and share it with other Cleared Table households (“The Commons”), with attribution to your household name. Recipes clipped from other websites stay private to your household, retain a link to their source, and must only be saved for your household's personal use. You may only submit content you have the right to submit. We may remove any content at our discretion, including content that is unsafe, unlawful, infringing, or abusive.
Community content (including Commons recipes and any future contributor posts) is provided by users, not by us. We do not verify it and are not responsible for it — your household's restriction settings are applied to it informationally, subject to the safety terms above.
5. AI-generated content
The recipe generator produces content with artificial intelligence, constrained to ingredients your household has cleared. AI output can still be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable. It is provided for inspiration and organization only and is subject to the safety terms above.
6. Plans, pricing, and changes
Free (“Lite”) households receive the features and limits described in the app, currently including one AI generation per month. Paid access is currently granted by invitation. The Service is in active development: features, limits, and pricing may change, and we may modify or discontinue parts of the Service. If paid subscriptions are introduced, separate billing terms will apply at purchase.
7. Third-party services and data
The Service uses third parties (sign-in, hosting, database, AI, and product/price data providers). Product information such as prices, aisles, and availability comes from third-party sources and can be inaccurate or stale. Third-party services have their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including the Cleared Table name, design, and software, is owned by BuildMyMap LLC and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your household's personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, scrape, resell, reverse-engineer, or misuse the Service.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WITHOUT LIMITING THE SAFETY TERMS ABOVE, WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE OR ITS INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, CURRENT, SAFE FOR ANY PARTICULAR DIET OR CONDITION, OR UNINTERRUPTED.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUILDMYMAP LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, ILLNESS, ALLERGIC REACTION, OR HEALTH OUTCOME ARISING FROM FOOD DECISIONS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THESE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless BuildMyMap LLC from claims and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your violation of these Terms, or your misuse of the Service.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Any claim must be brought within one year of when it arose, where permitted by law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email, and the effective date above will change. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
